State: Lousiana Tobasco Factory Tour, Avery Island On our drive through Lousiana from Lafayette to our next campground in New Orleans, we made a pit stop for the afternoon in a little area called Avery Island. The main attraction on Avery Island is the Tobasco Factory. We spent a couple hours on the self-guided tour through the factory. Emmett using his shirt to wipe the tobasco off his tongue. Jungle Gardens After sampling all the tobasco we wanted (that doesn't take too long), we took a five minute drive over to Jungle Gardens. Since we were driving the rv and towing my car, we opted to leave the rigs in the parking lot and walk the garden. If you have a few hours, I would highly recommend walking the gardens...and bring your camera. We saw a small group doing a wedding dress photoshoot here...it's just so gorgeous. There's also some cool wildlife to be found. For those of you who think we are on a year-long vacation, think again. Kaylie vs Alligator Roseate spoonbill - check!
